A Texas Appeals Court decision may represent the final chapter in a long 20-year battle between the estate of J. Howard Marshall II and Anna Nicole Smith. The Court has relieved Anna Nicole Smith’s estate of $500,000 that she was ordered to pay her former son-in-law for filing a frivolous challenge against her deceased husband’s will. This decision represents the end of a long complex legal struggle that involved multiple states and two trips to the U.S. Supreme Court.
