Be Careful When Seeking Medicaid Assistance From A Non-Lawyer
Long term health care costs for people in assisted living situations can be astronomical. Many people often rely on Medicaid benefits to stay afloat financially. Recently there has been major growth in “non-lawyer Medicaid planning”, which is people seeking help from non-attorneys in getting Medicaid eligibility. People should be wary because there can be dire consequences from seeking non-lawyer advice on Medicaid issues. The Florida Supreme Court has recently issued an advisory opinion that provides a list of activities that constitute the unlawful practice of law by unlicensed attorney.
