Jack Kerouac’s Fans Leave Letters At His Home

JackFans who have been inspired by the writings of author Jack Kerouac continue to leave letters at his home more than 46 years after he passed away in 1969.  The letters regularly come through the post office jamming the mailbox, people also hand deliver letters stuffing them under the screen door of the house.  Kerouac’s home, which is in St. Petersburg Florida, is currently managed by John Sampas who was the author’s brother-in-law and executor of the estate.  Sampas recently changed his mind about selling the house to a museum.  Along with sending letters a lot of people who have been inspired by books like ‘On The Road’ regularly make pilgrimages to the authors home.
