Boggs Estate In Legal Battle With Woman Claiming To Have A Romantic And Business Relationship
Thomas Hale Boggs Jr., was a well-known lobbyist and was the head of Patton Boggs, which was the largest lobbying focused law firm in Washington D.C. Janine Davey Waxman is a local realtor who has been waging a legal battle in both Maryland and Washington over the settlement of the Boggs estate. Waxman claims to have had a romantic relationship with Boggs that would also eventually evolve into a business relationship. The claim that Waxman filed against the Boggs estate seeks $2 million related to their business dealings as well as a house that Waxman claims Boggs promised to transfer to her. Boggs’ widow, Barbara Boggs, has fired back with her own counterclaim that Waxman owes the estate millions; she has also dismissed Waxman’s claims as being frivolous.
