British Court Clears Lord Cardigan Of Harassment Charges

CardiganA British magistrate has cleared the Earl of Cardigan of harassment charges after he was brought to court for the third time in two weeks and the 17th time in the last few years.  The case is part of a bitter feud between Lord Cardigan and the former trustee of the Cardigan family’s Savernake Estate, which is located near Marlborough in Wiltshire.  Lord Cardigan had originally appointed John Moore to act as trustee while he was sick in America.  When the lord returned Mr. Moore refused to step down and as a result Lord Cardigan had to get the High Court in London to remove him.  During the feud Mr. Moore and a few of the estate’s employees accused Lord Cardigan of harassing them.  The local magistrate cleared the Lord of all charges when the Crown Prosecution Service brought the charges against him.
