Gravestone Of Lee Harvey Oswald Recovered From Illinois Museum
The original gravestone of Lee Harvey Oswald has been returned to Dallas after a long battle to recover the marker by prominent nightclub owner David Card. The headstone was originally stolen shortly after Oswald’s death and, years later, returned to his mother where it remained until her house was sold to the Card family and found during renovations. Due to security concerns, the headstone was sent to family members in Illinois for safekeeping but ended up in a automotive museum after a Card family widow presumably sold the piece. Mr. Card stated that he intends to donate the piece to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas.
