If a person is turning 65 they are probably going to start looking into signing up for Medicare. It is important to be fully informed to avoid making costly mistakes. Senior citizens should understand the complicated alphabet soup of options that Medicare provides. Original Medicare “consists of Part A, which covers hospital stays; Part B, which covers physician and other outpatient charges; and Part D, which covers prescription medications.” Individuals looking into Medicare might also consider Medicare Advantage (Part C), which allows individuals to receive medical care from private companies in a single package without the need for a Medigap plan.
