New Hampshire Reforms Trust Company And Family Trust Company Statutes

New hampshireThe State of New Hampshire has implemented legislation that will both modify and simplify the laws dealing with trust companies and family trust companies.  The New Hampshire Trust Council helped to put together the new legislation.  This new legislation will remove 21 confusing and redundant chapters of statutes and replace them with a more simplified five chapters.  The new law will be tailored to modern trust law and modern business practices.  This column examines some of the notable features of the new updated statute.  It will represent the 10th piece of major Trust related legislation that the state has implemented within the last ten years.  The New Hampshire Trust Council represents a coalition of trust companies, law firms, and other members of the trust service sector.
