Woman Who Hid Father’s Sexual Abuse Suing Mother For Inheritance

SupremeCourtThis article discusses an emotional case involving a decedent who did not keep her promise to leave her daughter half of a $6 million estate in exchange for the daughter keeping silent about her father’s sexual abuse.  The mother, who passed away at the age of 93, left the majority of her estate to her two sons.  The daughter only received about 22 percent of the estate in the Will.  A grandson of the decedent was written out of the Will after he reported his grandfather to the police for sexual abuse.  This article discusses some of the difficult issues surrounding this horrible situation.  The opinion Supreme Court of Victoria at Melbourne can be read here.
