Janis Joplin’s Legendary Painted Porsche To Hit The Auction Block
Janis Joplin is a legend in the music industry with her hits still being regularly played on the radio and often used in movies, television, and advertisements. In addition to her famous music, Joplin also owned a uniquely painted Porsche 365C which she delighted in showing off and often appeared with in pictures. Now her iconic car is hitting the auction block at Sotheby’s in New York this December. The car had remained with Joplin’s family after her death and was on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 1995 before the family decided to sell the icon. The preauction estimate for the car is $400,000 but has a good chance of surpassing the estimate as the high end memorabilia market has been hot in recent years.
