Widow Claims Certificate Entitles Her To $1.5 Million In Stock
An Ohio women is suing L Brands based on a stock certificate from the 70’s that she says entitles her to 7,200 shares of company stock. The stock certificate was found among the possessions of her late husband who apparently acquired the stock while he was working as a bricklayer. The women’s attorney claims that forensic investigation indicates the certificate is genuine and that it should be honored by L Brands for decades of stock splits and dividends. As of now, no response to the lawsuit has been filed by the company.
