A San Antonio judge has ordered Tom Benson, the lawsuit addled owner of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, to mediation along with his daughter Renee. This case revolves around Benson’s ability to serve as trustee of a trust created after the death of his first wife which benefits his daughter and grandchildren. Renee alleges that her father put trust assets in jeopardy as part of the changes to his estate in his quest to leave ownership of the Saints to his current wife Gayle. While both parties agreed to the mediation, it is a standard pretrial requirement for judges in the region so it remains to be seen how much will be settled during the meeting.
