Facebook Gives Users More Control

Facebook-logoFacebook is adopting a new policy that will give its users more control over what happens to their account after they die.  This new Facebook feature will let users designate a person to have limited control over the account to do things like leaving posts on the deceased person’s timeline.  The person managing the Facebook account might want to update the decedent’s profile photo, share memorial service information, and respond to friend requests.  The executor would not be able to log in as the account holder and editing or deleting past content would be prohibited.  Facebook account executors would have restricted powers to manage the decedents profile.  This new feature is being implemented to satisfy an increasing demand as more people are becoming active in online social media.
