Same-Sex Foster Parents In Utah Now Allowed To Take Care Of Child
A Utah judge has reversed himself following a significant public outcry when he removed a 9 month old child from a same-sex couple acting as foster parents. The judge originally cited “studies” that claimed same-sex parents were less able to provide a proper upbringing for children as his rationale for removing the child. However, numerous organizations, including the American Psychological Association, slammed the finding as being without any scientific support or basis. In addition, the judge was facing political pressure from all sides including the Republican governor of Utah. The child will be returned to the couple hopefully putting an end to this sad affair.
