Utah Judge Removes Foster Child From Care of Same-Sex Couple

GavelA judge in Utah has removed a foster child from the care of a married same-sex couple stating the well being of the child was jeopardized. The judge claimed that a child is better served by two heterosexual parents and cited to several dubious studies that purported to show children were better off with two opposite sex parents. However, the lesbian couple fired back stating that the argument made by the judge was nothing more than a pretext to make a decision based on religious beliefs. The ruling has earned the ire of many prominent civil rights groups with protests planned in the coming days.
