Fear Of Deportation Leads To Corpse In Freezer For Year

A California couple is in custody following the discovery of a corpse that had been kept in their freezer for a year. The body, a woman’s, was found after strange smells were detected by the landlord which lead to the police being called to the scene. The couple claimed they were related to the deceased woman and had been her caretaker before her death. However, fear of deportation lead them to never contact authorities and try to conceal the death from authorities. An autopsy revealed no suspicious cause of death although the couple may be charged for their action in failing to report the death and keeping the body.
