Newtown Shooter’s Family Estate To Go To Victims
The families of 16 victims of the Newtown elementary school shooting will split $1.5 million from the estate of the mother of the shooter Adam Lanza. The shooting occurred 3 years ago and resulted int he deaths of 26 children and teachers and sparked a national debate over control. The settlement arose from a lawsuit against the estate claiming that Lanza’s mother negligently secured the assault rifle that was used by her son in the attack. The mother, Nancy, was the first victim of her son as he killed her before going on his spree at the school which ultimately resulted in his suicide. No word on any potential settlements with other victims of the shooting.
