Benson Set For Deposition In Dispute Over Team Shares
Tom Benson has been involved in litigation with his daughter and grandchildren for over a year with issues ranging from control of a Texas trust to mental competency. Now, he is set to be deposed over exchanging person promissory notes for shares in the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans that were held in a trust. Lawyers for Benson have requested that the ailing billionaire face only limited questioning over a two day period and, even then, not until April once all other witnesses have been questioned. However lawyers that represent the trustees challenging Benson’s attempted switch have opposed any limits on how long Benson’s testimony will last. The last time Benson was threatened with being deposed was in a San Antonio case between him and his daughter over a trust set up that held the car dealerships in Texas which resulted in a settlement soon any testimony was taken As of now no ruling has been issued by the judge concerning the timing and constraints of the deposition.
