Estate Sale At Home Of Former House Speaker Expects Large Turnout

ArticlePictureJim Wright was one of the most powerful politicians in America during his 30 plus years in Congress culminating with his election to Speaker of the House in the late 1980’s. Now, an estate sale for the ages is taking place at his Ft. Worth, Texas home where he and his wife, both of whom died last year, lived for decades. The items for sale range from simple knickknacks such as House of Representatives ashtrays to books full of annotations by the late Speaker many of which are signed by their authors such as Richard Nixon and former Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev. Many curiosity seekers are expected to show up simply for the chance to take a peek at the home and belongings of a former titan of politics although many buyers will be among them to snatch up items that range in price from a few bucks to thousands of dollars. The sale will take place this Friday at 10am.
