More Americans Moving To Suburbs In The Sunbelt

SuburbsThis article discusses how domestic and international migration trends are looking very similar to the way trends were in 2006. More American families are moving to suburbs in the sunbelt region of the United States. “Seven of the 10 fastest-growing U.S. metros—and seven of the 20 metros with the largest numerical growth—were in Florida and Texas last year, according to new data this morning from the U.S. Census.” While more people are moving to sunny metros in surrounding cities like Dallas and Houston the City of Chicago has had a population decline. The Census reported that last year Cook County had its first drop in population since 2007. It is not clear if housing trends will continue to stay on the same trajectory, but right now more people are moving to sunbelt suburbs.
