New Measures To Be Used For Nursing Home Rankings

Nursing HomeChoosing a good nursing home is an imperative for most families as they wish to have their loved ones placed with those who are reliable caretakers. Now, six new measures are being added to the data used to calculate a ranking for a nursing home by Nursing Home Compare. Among the changes is an added focus on short-stay residents who require outpatient emergency care, short-stays that did not go into a hospital within 30 days of discharge, as well as which short-stay residents had physical improvement. Also included is new data on long-stay residents who have been receiving anti-anxiety drugs and long term residents over 100 days whose lost the ability to independently move. Due to the record number of individuals who are entering nursing home care, hopefully new ranking systems, such as this one, will help those seeking the best option find it.
