Gene Wilder’s Golden Ticket
Gene Wilder was known for his role as Willy Wonka, but his philanthropic efforts earn him the real golden ticket. For a large part of his life, Wilder raised awareness for ovarian cancer after his third wife passed from the disease. He co-founded Gilda’s Club, a charitable organization that provides support to those living with cancer along with their friends and family. Like Wilder, proper estate planning can allow the purely altruistic donor to enjoy tax benefits. It is important, however, for those battling mental illnesses to create a suitable estate plan, preventing estate battles and family conflict.
