Recent reports indicate that New Jersey will officially eliminate the estate tax. This elimination comes with an increase in gas tax, a slight reduction in sales tax, a larger tax credit for the working poor, a tax cut on retirement income, and a tax exemption for veterans who have been honorably discharged. Speculations point to a phase out over the next few years.
