Our Lifespan Has Hit Its Natural Limit

Age limitRecent research suggests that our lifespan has hit its natural limit with a ceiling of approximately 115 years. Although life expectancy at birth has increased over the last century, international databases suggest there is a limit to human lifespan, and we have hit it. Maximum reported ages at death rapidly increased between 1970 and the early 1990s but hit a plateau in the late 90s. This limit is being attributed to a range of genetic programmes that control various processes, such as growth and development.
