Couples & Philanthropy

Couple philanthropyNew research suggests that decisions to support charities are normally made by both partners in a relationship. Specifically, 81% of donors who are married or co-habitat with a partner made charitable donations as a couple, and only 11% reported disagreements on philanthropic decisions. Couples are also taking time to discuss philanthropy—76% noted that they discuss which charities to support, and 70% discuss how much to give. This report will present advisors the opportunity to involve their clients’ spouses in creating a financial plan.
