A Family Affair: Sibling Financial Arguments Are Less Common
Sibling rivalries may stem from a variety of sources, but research shows that it is rarely due to financial issues. Only 15% of individuals have conflicts with their siblings regarding finances even though siblings often have divergent views about money. Of the small number of these financial conflicts, a significant percentage involve parents. Many of these arguments deal with inheritances, support provided to parents, and the general fairness of financial support from parents. So, while you may never get an apology for the destruction of your vintage record collection, chances are that financial disputes will not be an additional topic of discord at your next family gathering.
