Stevie J to Get Prison Time for Being a Deadbeat Dad

0305-stevie-j-tmz-4The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York reported that Stevie J, star of “Love & Hip Hop,” will be required to turn himself in on April 10 given his failure to pay over $1.3 million in child support. These cases are typically handled in state court, but the hefty amount Stevie owes, the total time he has been in arrears, and the fact that many of the individuals involved reside in various states has turned this into a federal case. Federal prosecutors wanted Stevie to serve time in February of 2017, when he initially pled guilty for failure to pay child support and was placed on probation for three years. It looks as though they are getting their wish.
