Anonymous Mega Millions Lottery Winner Claims $1.5B Jackpot in South Carolina
Finally! The winner of the Mega Millions jackpot of $1.5 billion announced back in October 2018 out of South Carolina has come forward to claim their price. The winner has decided to receive a one-time cash payout of $878 million, which is the largest jackpot payout to a single winner in U. S. history.
The winner has also decided to remain anonymous, which is allowed by South Carolina. The only other states that allow their lottery winners to hide their identities are Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and Texas.
The lucky numbers were not specifically chosen by the winner but were instead chosen by “Quick Pick.” The anonymous winner has also retained the representation of New York law firm Rivkin Radler.
