‘Indefatigable’ Chicago Woman Whose Skydive at 104 Drew Admiration Dies

FuneralDorothy Hoffner, a centenarian known for her recent skydiving stunt at age 104, passed away peacefully at her home in Chicago on Sunday night.

Hoffner gained international attention for her nonchalant attitude toward the overwhelming media interest following her skydiving feat. A family friend told reporters that the exact cause of her death was still undetermined.

Born on December 17, 1918, Ms. Hoffner lived a relatively quiet life, enjoying her evenings watching “MAS*H” reruns at the Brookdale Lake View senior living center. Her decision to skydive at the age of 104 was simply because she found it enjoyable, having previously experienced the thrill at the age of 100.
