Suzanne Somers, Star of ‘Three’s Company,’ Is Dead at 76

Suzanne Somers, who rose to fame on “Three’s Company” and later built a health and diet business empire, died earlier this morning in Palm Springs, California. She was one day shy of 77.

Somers left “Three’s Company” after failed negotiations for equal pay comparable with her male costar and created the ThighMaster with her husband, Alan Hamel. Next, she wrote over 25 books, several of which were best sellers.

Somers was battling a recurrence of breast cancer at the time of her passing. She previously battled malignant melanoma and a few bouts of breast cancer.
