Paris Jackson faced a legal setback this week after a retired Los Angeles judge ruled in favor of the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, striking several claims from her petition under California’s anti-SLAPP statute. The court determined that parts of her complaint targeted protected legal filings, which cannot form the basis of a lawsuit. A spokesperson for Paris said the ruling was procedural and that she plans to continue pursuing greater transparency from the estate.
Paris’ original filings raised concerns about what she described as questionable payments and bonuses made to law firms working for the estate. She argued that more than $625,000 in gifts and gratuities were paid out for unbilled time and that other premium payments violated previous court orders. Her petition sought stronger oversight of attorney compensation and demanded that the executors provide detailed accounting for a five-year period.
Although the judge struck portions of her complaint, other claims were preserved, including her broader concerns about oversight and the need for more transparency regarding estate spending. Paris was ordered to pay the estate’s attorneys’ fees related specifically to the time they spent defending against the anti-SLAPP portion of her petition.
Outside the courtroom, Paris made headlines for revealing a personal health issue connected to her past drug use. In an online video, she shared that she has a perforated septum caused by cocaine, explaining the whistle sound that can be heard when she breathes. She offered a candid look at the condition and advised viewers to avoid drugs, noting she has lived with the issue since her early twenties.
Despite the ongoing legal dispute, Paris appeared at the 2025 GQ Men of the Year celebration in Los Angeles. She recently distanced herself from the upcoming Michael biopic and clarified on Instagram that she had no involvement in the film after her early notes about the script were not addressed.
