This presentation will focus on “digitalassets” — accounts used for e-mail, professional and personal databackups, banking, investment, and shopping, domain names and web-hostingaccounts, social networking accounts, and avatars for online games. Ourspeakers will explain (1) the importance of planning for the disposition of digitalassets upon incapacity or death, (2) how to administer an estate containingdigital assets, and (3) how the proposed Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act(currently in preparation by the Uniform Law Commission) would vest fiduciarieswith the authority to access, manage, distribute, copy or delete digital assetsand accounts.
