Doctors Deem Bynes “Gravely Disabled”

As I have previously discussed, Nickelodean celebrity Amanda Byneshas spent $1.2 million dollars of her $4 million dollars in life savings. Herparents are claiming that the money was spent in a very short time span. As aresult of what her parents believe is excessive spending and misconduct, Rickand Lynn Bynes petitioned the court for a strict, court orderedconservatorship.

Amanda Bynes was placed on a 30- day psychiatric hold pending a conservatorship hearing. Doctors determined Bynes was not competent enough to attendthe temporary hearing. The doctors deemed Bynes “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.” At the hearing the judge granted Lynn Bynes legal control over Amanda.
