Charitable organizations are trying to get their “episodic donors” to give on a continual basis. The organizations claim by making the gift renewable it adds more stability to the organization. The American Red Cross has been promoting this recurring gift method to add predictability to their budget. Typically the recurring gift amounts are smaller but it seems like more charities are moving toward this giving method. Donors can set up the schedule to donate funds monthly, quarterly, or bi annually and have an ongoing commitment to a charity of their choice.
