National College of Probate Judges Seminar

The National College of Probate Judges announced that its Spring 2005 seminar will be at The Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, Florida on May 11-14, 2005. 

The following description of their main educational seminar is reproduced from an e-mail message from NCPJ which I received earlier today:

Program: Judges Bate & Kirkendall, have arranged an interesting and varied program. Thursday’s sessions will deal with “Technology & the Probate Court”. Friday’s speakers are Judge William J. Martini of the U. S. District Court of New Jersey and John T. O’Brien, Esq. who will speak on the “Electronic Revolution in the Federal Courts” and New Jersey attorney Thomas D. Begley, Jr. who will speak on the “Courts Meeting Fiduciary Standards Using “AIF’s (Accredited Investment Fiduciaries) and Technology”. Saturday’s sessions will include a presentation by Professor Alan Medlin of the University of South Carolina on the “Unified Trust Code” and Edward Smith, Esq. of Dallas on the “Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)”.
