Body Disposition Gone Wrong

A van was repossessed on March 2, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas.  When the van was opened, inside awaited a big surprise — three decomposing bodies.  Ick!  The van was owned by North Star Transportation Service which often transported cadavers for a funeral home.

It seems that these three men died about five years ago and were supposed to be cremated.  Instead, they were kept on ice until late in 2004 at which time they were moved to the van.

When the family member of one of these individuals was contacted, he reportedly told the police that his dad could not possibly be in the van because his ashes were “right here” in an urn.

Reports such as this underscore the importance of careful planning for the disposition of your (or a client’s) body.  Perhaps you are fortunate enough to live in a state such as Texas which allows a person to name an individual as a body disposition agent.
