Terri Schiavo — Update 10

Terri’s feeding tube was removed yesterday (March 18, 2005) at 1:45 p.m. EST.

She now begins the slow process of starving and/or dehydrating to death which doctors predict will take two to four weeks.  Terri has twice before begun to die in this manner but a court or legislature has required the reinsertion of her feeding tube.

The United States Supreme Court, without comment, refused to hear an appeal filed by the United States House of Representatives.

Efforts by Terri’s parents to get legislation enacted by the legislative bodies of both Florida and United States continues.  Various court appeals are also being pursued.

Three people who attempted to give Terri bread and water were arrested today (March 19, 2005) on misdemeanor charges.
