Terri Schiavo — Update 12

Early this morning (Monday, March 21, 2005), Congress passed (203-58) and President Bush signed legislation authorizing Terri’s parents to seek the reinsertion of Terri’s feeding tube in federal court.  The law allows the court to ascertain whether Terri’s constitutional rights are being violated by the tube’s removal.

The lawyer representing Terri’s parents has already filed a request for an emergency injunction in Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa.

Likewise, the Justice Department has filed documents supporting Terri’s parents in their quest for feeding tube reinsertion.
