Conditional Bequests & Soap Operas

A former student of mine who (1) has too much time on his hands and (2) requested that I never reveal the source of the information, informed me that he is really enjoying a recent plot-line on the daytime soap opera, All My Children.

According to him, a major character has recently died with a will providing that her huge estate is to pass to a particular person but “the poison must be leeched” from his life meaning that he will lose the entire gift if he marries his current lady friend.

And who would ever have thought that watching daytime TV might be relevant to our Wills classes!!
