Meador Lectures at University of Alabama

The University of Alabama School of Law is sponsoring the Meador Lectures.  This program was established in 1994 to honor the former dean of the law school, Daniel J. Meador.

This year, the lecture series focuses on fiduciaries.  According to the program’s brochure,

Because issues of trust and responsibility permeate many legal settings, fiduciaries–those held to special standards of accountability–play a critical role in facilitating the operation of legal systems.  Sometimes these fiduciaries are individuals while other times they may be government bodies, other entities, or even whole societies.

The first lecture will be on October 20, 2005 by Alpin J. Cameron Professor of Law Jill E. Fisch of the Fordham University School of Law.

The second lecture will be in Spring 2006 by Sterling Professor of Law and Legal History John H. Langbein of the Yale Law School.
