Massachusetts Legislature Rejects Same-Sex Marriage Ban
Yesterday (September 14, 2005), the Massachusetts legislature rejected a proposed constitutional amendment which would have prohibited same-sex marriages and create, in their place, civil unions.
Note, however, that a tougher amendment to ban same-sex marriages without authorizing civil unions is still under consideration.
