Anna Nicole Smith Victorious at United States Supreme Court

Earlier today (May 1, 2006), the United States Supreme Court announced its opinion in Marshall v. Marshall. 

The opinion is not yet posted on the Supreme Court’s website so the following information is “second hand” adapted from Anna Nicole Smith Gets OK to Seek Inheritance, AP, May 1, 2006.

• The Court’s decision was unanimous in Anna’s favor.
• The opinion was authored by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
• Justice Ginsburg is reported as stating that “Smith should have a fresh chance to pursue claims in federal court.”
• There are still issues which could prevent Anna from collecting any money.
