Arthur Zankel’s Will
Arthur Zankel, an investment manager and philanthropist, committed suicide in July 2005 by jumping from his ninth-floor New York City apartment.
According to Daniel J. Wakin, Zankel Estate Gives $120 Million to Nonprofits; $22 Million Is for Carnegie, NY Times, June 3, 2006:
His family announced yesterday [June 2, 2006] that Mr. Zankel had willed the bulk of his fortune to nonprofit institutions, giving about $120 million, after taxes, to Carnegie, Skidmore College, Columbia University’s Teachers College, the UJA-Federation of New York and the Society of Illustrators, among others.
