Dead People “Rescued” From Fire
A fire broke out in a funeral home in Indianapolis last weekend (October 7, 2006). As the fire blazed, two morticians ran back into the burning building to “rescue” the dead bodies. They retrieved three bodies before the fire become too intense for them to continue. After the fire department extinguished the fire, they discovered that seven other bodies which remained inside were not damaged.
To paraphrase the radio newscaster from whom I learned about this story, “The morticians should have put up a sign while the funeral home was in flames advertising cremations at a 50% discount.”
