They Made Her a Offer She Could Not Refuse
Angela Borlaza, the late Marlon Brando’s caregiver, “agreed to settle a lawsuit for $125,000 * * * she had filed against his executors claiming she was a victim of fraud, deceit and a broken oral contract.” AP, Executors of Marlon Brando’s estate agree to pay aide $125,000 to settle lawsuit, Jan. 4, 2007.
Ms. Borlaza had originally sought the proceeds of Brando’s home and $2 million in punitive damages. During mediation, she agreed to accept the $125,000, a significantly smaller sum.
Special thanks to Prof. Joel C. Dobris of the University of California-Davis for bringing this situation to my attention.
