- President Woodrow Wilson
- President and Dolley Madison
- President Franklin Pierce
- Julia Dent Grant (wife of President Ulysses S. Grant)
- Frederick Douglass (abolitionist)
- Euphemia Loftan Hayes (first African-American woman to earn Ph.D. in math)
- Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes
