Estate of John Strauss v. Jay Leno

MacysJohn Strauss, one of the heirs to Macy’s, owned two classic cars, a 1931 Model J Duesenberg and a 1930 Rolls Royce.  For 50 years, he kept these cars in the Windsor Garage in Manhattan.

In 2005, the Windsor Garage auctioned off the cars because John owed $29,000 in parking fees.  John died earlier this year (2008).

John’s estate now claims that the auction occurred without John’s knowledge and that the parking fee claim was merely a pretense to justify the sale of the cars.

John’s estate has now sued Jay Leno who purchased the Duesenberg.
