Estate planning on a budget
GD II (Great Depression II) is causing even individuals of moderate income to have a difficult time obtaining legal services.
This situation has given the opportunity for “store front” law offices to gain in popularity such as the LegalGrind in Santa Monica, California. The firm charges $75 for a basic durable power of attorney, $100 for a living will, and a modest price (I cannot read the amount from the sign) for a will/inter vivos trust.
See Carol J. Williams, Another sign of tough times: legal aid for the middle class, LA Times, March 10, 2009.
