Elvis as a Model for Jackson

Robert L. Moshman has written an article discussing, among other things, the King of Pop in light of the King of Rock.

Although Elvis died over 30 years ago, Elvis’ estate has successfully merchandised his image, sold his music, and created a tourist destination out of his home.  Elvis consistently tops Forbes’ annual list of highest-earning dead celebrities.

It will be interesting to see if Jackson surpasses Elvis on Forbes’ list this year or if Jackson’s estate will be as “successful” as that of Elvis.
