Cremains: Strange Final Resting Places
Cremains are usually scattered at some sentimental location or stored in a carefully chosen resting spot; however, sometimes they turn-up in very unusual places. According to Stacia Glen, Ashes of dead turning up in unlikely places, The Sun, Aug. 16, 2009, some of the stranger places cremains have been found include the following:
There was a small box of cremains dropped in a charity donation box. It later was returned to a relative who mistakenly donated them.
Or the several occasions when urns have been found inside the trunks of cars sitting in tow yards. . . .
Hikers found the urn on a dirt trail off Highway 330. A genealogist managed to track down the couple’s grandson in Hawaii, but nobody could figure out how the large urn ended up in the foothills.
